Ground Causes Fumble

Stupid people will always say, “The ground can’t cause a fumble.” Oh, but it can, and sometimes it does. If the ball carrier hasn’t been touched by the defense, the ground is fully able to cause a fumble. Most of the time, players just don’t fall and fumble when not touched. Off the top of my head, I can only recall it happening twice in the NFL in recent years. Elisha Manning versus the Eagles a few years ago, and Andy “Ginger Jesus” Dalton against the Chargers in last year’s playoffs.

Giants RB Rashad Jennings today versus the Arizona Cardinals became the latest victim. Maybe it’s contagious with the Giants.
